McIDAS Programmer's Manual

    HTML Download Instructions

The McIDAS Programmer's Manual version 2003 was distributed 24 October 2003. Follow the instructions below to update the HTML version of the manual on your local web server.

You can obtain the McIDAS Programmer's Manual files through this web page using your site's login and password (which was also listed on the cover letter that was enclosed with the upgrade package mailed to your site coordinator). If you do not know the login and password, ask your site coordinator. If you have a problem obtaining these files via the web, ask your site coordinator to contact the McIDAS Help Desk by e-mail or by phone at (608) 262-2455.

To download the McIDAS Programmer's Manual in HTML format:

1. Download the following file to a directory on your hard drive.
   Note: Step 2 will fail if the names of the downloaded files do not exactly match those listed below. If your web browser changes the names of the files during download (e.g., prog_man2003html.tar.Z becomes prog_man2003html_tar.Z), you must rename the files to those below.

2. Uncompress prog_man2003html.tar.Z to create the prog_man2003html directory, which contains the 226 files necessary to view the McIDAS Programmer's Manual in HTML format.
   
   UNIX USERS -
   From the unix prompt, type: uncompress < prog_man2003html.tar.Z | tar xf -
   
   NT USERS -
   From a local file manager (e.g. Windows Explorer), double-click prog_man2003html.tar.Z to run WinZip, which will decompress the tar file and extract the files.
