Version 1.5 of McIDAS-Lite  21 June 2004

Download:

	mclite-install
	McLITE-<machine>-<version>.tar.gz

where <machine> is:

	aix
	darwin
	hpux
	interix
	irix
	linux
	solaris
	soli86

The versions of the operating system for this binary
release can be found on the main McIDAS-Lite web page.
These versions are the minimum release levels needed, 
except for Interix which must be at the level specified.

Installation:
	
	. ./mclite-install

This will install the software and set up the necessary 
environment variables to run McIDAS-Lite. If you are
using a shell other than ksh, bash, or sh you will 
be instructed on environment variables to set.

Once installed just type:

	mclite

Notes:

McIDAS-Lite is an X Window System application. Make sure
an X Window server is running before starting McIDAS-Lite.

McIDAS-Lite will access remote data from McIDAS data servers
on the Internet. At startup time, a list of available servers
is updated automatically if the workstation is networked 
connected.

Windows users:

To run McIDAS-Lite on Windows NT/2000/XP, you must have
the Services For Unix software installed. See:

	http://www.microsoft.com/windows/sfu/default.asp

When downloading on Windows, make sure that the file name
remains the same as it is listed on the web page. Sometimes,
a '.' will get replaced by a '_' or a .html will get appended
to the mclite-install script.
