SDI Version 2002aug29 Update Summary

SSEC Desktop Ingestor (SDI) Administrator,
SDI version 2002aug29 was recently added to the MUG Web Site (https://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mcidas/). See the SDI page by clicking "SSEC Desktop Ingestor (SDI)" in the Software section along the left side of the main page. From the SDI page you can select version 2002aug29 or any other available version of SDI software.
Read the section below that corresponds to your type of ingestor (GMS, GVAR, Meteosat, NOAAPORT, or POES) to determine if version 2002aug29 affects your ingestor and if/when SSEC recommends that you install it.
I. GMS Ingestors
Version 2002aug29 does not contain updates to the GMS ingestor. The most recent GMS ingestor changes appeared in version 2002mar08, so your ingestor is up-to-date if it's running version 2002mar08 or later.
II. GVAR Ingestors
Version 2002aug29 contains updates to the GVAR ingestor to accommodate any valid date format. Therefore, SSEC recommends that you install version 2002aug29 as soon as possible on your GVAR ingestors.
III. Meteosat Ingestors
Version 2002aug29 does not contain updates to the Meteosat ingestor. The most recent Meteosat ingestor changes appeared in version 1999nov29, so your ingestor is up-to-date if it's running version 1999nov29 or later.
IV. NOAAPORT Ingestors
Version 2002aug29 does not contain updates to the NOAAPORT ingestor. The most recent NOAAPORT ingestor changes appeared in version 2000jun06, so your ingestor is up-to-date if it's running version 2000jun06 or later.
V. POES Ingestors
Version 2002aug29 contains updates to the POES ingestor to support NOAA-17 AVHRR data. Therefore, SSEC recommends that you install version 2002aug29 as soon as possible on your POES ingestors. Note: An SDI release that supports NOAA-17 AMSU and HIRS data is planned for September 2002.
