SSEC Desktop Ingestor (SDI) version 2000jun06 Software and Instructions

You can obtain the SDI version 2000jun06 files through this Web page if you purchased MUG support for your SDI systems or have been contacted and been given apporoval by SSEC. You will be prompted for your site's login and password when you attempt to download the installation files. If you do not know the login and password, ask your site coordinator. If you are a GMS, GVAR, Meteosat or POES site and have a problem obtaining these files via the Web, ask your site coordinator to contact the McIDAS Help Desk by e-mail or by phone at (608) 262-2455. If you are a NOAAPORT site and have a problem obtaining these files via the Web, ask your site coordinator to contact your SSEC Program Manager.

Note: Before installing the software, you may want to view the SSEC Desktop Ingestor (SDI) Changes page to see the list of changes for all versions of SDI available on the MUG Web Site. You can also print or download the file for future reference.

Complete the following steps to obtain and install the SDI software.

1. Download the following two files to the ~mcadde directory on your SDI ingestor. If you ftp the files from another workstation, be sure to use binary file transfers.

   sdi2000jun06.tar.Z	10507 KB	compressed tar file containing the server binaries, ingestor binaries, and data files

2. Log on to the ingestor as root. Run all commands below from the ~mcadde directory.
3. Install SDI version 2000jun06 using the appropriate command below.

   If you are installing on an SDI workstation running GMS, GVAR, Meteosat or POES, or running SDI NOAAPORT without McIDAS-XCD,

   Type: sh ./sdi2000jun06.sh install

   If you are installing on a workstation running SDI NOAAPORT with McIDAS-XCD,

   Type: sh ./sdi2000jun06.sh install ingestors
4. Stop and then restart the ingestor.
