McIDAS-XCD High Resolution Grid Addendum
Software and Instructions

This is the first addendum to the May 2004 McIDAS-XCD upgrade, version 2004.

A component of the McIDAS-XCD grid decoder does not contain the necessary code to correctly decode high resolution grids. If you downloaded the McIDAS-XCD 2004 installation files prior to June 17th follow the instructions below. If you downloaded the McIDAS-XCD 2004 installation files on or after June 17th you may disregard this addendum as the installation files have been modified to incorporate the new grid decoder software.

Required Action:

If you will be decoding high resolution grids follow the steps below.

1. Turn off McIDAS-XCD and make sure that all related processes have exited.
   
2. Download the file Mcmkmcgrid.c to your ~oper/mcidas/xcd2004/src directory.
3. Set the McIDAS-XCD environment for compiling;

4. Compile the new code;

5. Restart McIDAS-XCD
