Software and Instructions
The McIDAS-XCD Version 2006 Upgrade was distributed on 14 June 2006. You can obtain
the 2006 upgrade files through this webpage using your site's login and password
(which was also listed on the cover letter that was enclosed with the upgrade
package mailed to your site coordinator). If you do not know the login and password,
ask your site coordinator. If you have a problem obtaining these files via the
web, ask your site coordinator to contact the McIDAS Help Desk by
e-mail or by phone at (608) 262-2455.
NOTE: McIDAS-XCD version 2006 should be installed after McIDAS-X version
2006A is installed on the -XCD workstation. McIDAS-X
version 2006A is preferable to version 2006, because it contains some
changes specifically for -XCD.
Complete the following steps to obtain and install the upgrade.
- Download the following files to the ~oper/mcidas directory on your McIDAS-XCD workstation.

- Carefully read and complete all steps in the document McIDAS-XCD
Version 2006 Upgrade Procedure, June 2006. This document contains
an overview of McIDAS-XCD 2006 and specific instructions to follow before,
during, and after installing 2006. We strongly urge that all regular users
of McIDAS-XCD (not just the installer) read this document.
