CLAVRClouds from AVHRR |
Overview
The Clouds from AVHRR Extended (CLAVR-x) is NOAA's operational cloud processing system for the AVHRR on the NOAA - POES and EUMETSAT-METOP series of satellites. The AVHRR Pathfinder Atmospheres (PATMOS-x) is a climate processing system (1981-2007) based on CLAVR-x.
While more advanced imagers are already flying, AVHRR remains an important source of remote sensing data. In addition, only the AVHRR offers a data-record that spans over twenty five years making it a critical data-set for decadal climate studies.
