S-HIS Flight today and WB-57 update

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

The ER-2 took off this morning and a flight is in progress.

HOT OFF THE PRESS: The WB-57 had a successful 2 hour test flight yesterday.

Current plan is to reintegrate all the instruments today and tomorrow and have a 2nd checkout flight Tuesday. If that is successful then the WB-57 would head down to Costa Rica on Friday the 3rd and we could get as many as 3 very important science flights on the 5th, 6th and 8th. The transit flight back home is on the 9th and they are talking about having both planes fly back together as far as possible before splitting in different directions to go home.
