The high pressure system in the Beaufort Sea moved east into the Canadian Islands. A large low pressure center occupied eastern Siberia. Winds were southerly at SHEBA ship and at Barrow.
The trajectories to SHEBA ship came from the south for all levels expect the lowest, surface and 1.0 km. The lowest level air came from the southeast, in western Canada. From 1.5 to 9.0 km, the air came from the north Pacific Ocean across western Alaska.
The trajectories to Barrow show the air from the surface to 1.5 km coming from northern Canada, from the southeast. The higher levels from 3 to 9 km came from the north Pacific Ocean acrossed Alaska.
