My Dear Draper:

Your favor relating to Dr. Mitchell is received, and I handed if to Andrew W. & W. B. Mitchell of Sweet, Dempster & Co., 220 Monroe St. with the urgent request that the desired information be furnished to you at once. Wm. B. promises to reply to it today. Also will forward your letter to his mother, now visiting at Green Bay, Wis., who he thinks can give you much more of the history of his Grandfather than he is able to do.

Her address is -- Mrs. Mary C. Mitchell, care of Theo. Harris, G. Bay, Wis. Is to, or has visited the family of Morgan L. Martin.

Wm. B. has many of the personal effects of Dr. Mitchell which I hope he will speak of in his promised letter to you. He tells me that the Dr. at one time lived at Doty's Island, but he does not know where the Camp of Dickson was. He will also send you [?] an old Deed, and other ancient papers, which I assured him you would preserve, and return, if so requested.

I take it that Dr. Mitchell, a Scotchman, was quite a character, and traveled through Wis. to P. du Chien, and many items of personal history can be gathered of interest to the general reader.

Wishing you continued health to prosecute your historical undertakings, I remain

Sincerely your friend,

S. V. Shipman
