Chicago, Nov. 27 1879

My Dear Draper:

I have received the Book and your kind note relating to same, for which please accept my thanks.

I have succeeded in perfecting my set of the "Penn. Archives" and "Colonial Records". If the duplicates will be of service to you, I will send them without cost to you with great pleasure.

Today, my children and grand-children have all been at home, to partake of Thanksgiving Dinner. On looking over the situation, we are sincerely thankful, that it is as well with us, as it is.

Hoping all is well with you I remain,

Sincerely your friend
S. V. Shipman
