Architectural Rooms of S. V. Shipman, Architect
160 LaSalle Street,
Chicago, Dec'r 16th 1886

My Dear Draper:

I have forwarded today by Express, a package of Books, and Pamphlets, for the Historical Society. Some may be considered of value to you; -- others may not.

Nothing has been received during the year from outsiders, for the Society.

I have not met Gen'l. McClurg, but once, since the receipt of your letter; and both of us had little time to talk of the subject matter about which you wrote, it was arranged we should meet again very soon, and more time to devote to the subject. All that was said by him was in the highest degree complimentary to yourself, and he expressed a most cordial wish to meet you.

Kindly to all friends at Madison.

Sincerely your friend,
S. V. Shipman
