T. Schmit participated in the annual American Meteorological Society (AMS) meeting in Atlanta, GA (2006). Schmit gave an oral presentation on the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) and a poster on the GOES-N Sounder.
Timothy J. Schmit attended SPIE meeting in Orlando and gave a presentation on HES/ABI scan scenario study. Possible scanning scenarios of the GOES-R HES (Hyperspectral Environmental Suite) was submitted for the Society of Photo-optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) conference in on March 31, 2005.
T. Schmit gave a seminar at the NOAA Science Center in Camp Springs, MD, on March 21st, 2005 on The Next Two Geostationary Steps: Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-N and GOES-R.
T. Schmit gave an invited talk on the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R Hyperspectral Environmental Suite (HES) were given at the Optical Society of America (OSA) conference "Hyperspectral Imaging and Sounding of the Environment" in Alexandria, VA on January 31, 2005. HES talk was titled Applications of the GOES-R HES (Hyperspectral Environmental Suite) Infrared measurements.
T. Schmit attended the annual AMS (American Meteorological Society) meeting in San Diego, CA during January of 2005. Schmit gave talks on the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) at both the Interactive Information and Processing Systems (IIPS) and the Symposium on Future National Operational Environmental Satellites.
T. Schmit was one of the NOAA representatives the EUropean organization for the exploitation of METeorological SATellites (EUMETSAT) 2nd Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) User Consultation Workshop held April 13-15, 2005 in Locarno, Switzerland and presented The GOES-R imager, sounder and lightning observation missions.
T. Schmit participated in the December 2004 Satellite Direct Readout Conference in in Miami, Florida. One talk was entitled "GOES R Products". T. Schmit gave a seminar at the National Hurricane Center entitled 20 years of GOES measurements -- 2005 to 2025 -- from GOES N/O/P to GOES-R+.
