{"id":1210,"date":"2017-10-26T09:00:30","date_gmt":"2017-10-26T09:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/aeri\/?page_id=1210"},"modified":"2021-07-28T06:43:52","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T06:43:52","slug":"m-aeri-software-notes-and-troubleshooting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/aeri\/kb\/procedures\/maintenance\/m-aeri-software-notes-and-troubleshooting\/","title":{"rendered":"M-AERI Software Notes and Troubleshooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingest<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Occasionally the AERI software may experience an outage.\u00a0 This may happen a few times a day.\u00a0 This is very difficult to correct, however a watchdog timer is installed to restart the Ingest<\/li>\n<li>During a software outage the black Ingest window may not be displaying scenes (e.g. S42) and the Monitoring display may be all blue (missing data) and the hatch may close<\/li>\n<li>The watchdog timer should restart the software within 20-60 mins<\/li>\n<li>If Ingest has not restarted, power cycle the instrument components.\u00a0 First attempt to cycle Ingest, then the VM, then the hardware if needed as a last resort\n<ul>\n<li>Cycle Ingest\n<ul>\n<li>Stop Ingest (In black cygwin window press &lt;ctrl&gt;-c multiple times until stopped, then close all windows including FTSW)<\/li>\n<li>Restart Ingest from desktop icon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cycle the VM\n<ul>\n<li>Restart Windows<\/li>\n<li>VM should reboot and Ingest will start automatically<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cycle M-AERI power + Cycle the VM\n<ul>\n<li>Open iBootBar link on desktop\n<ul>\n<li>user\/pass = admin\/admin<\/li>\n<li>Cycle interferometer power (port #1)<\/li>\n<li>Note: it takes about 2 mins for the M-AERI hardware to initialize before the Ingest software can be started<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>On rare occasion, a 0000 UTC reboot may be needed for the sofware to be able to reset correctly<\/li>\n<li>If the problem persists, note the errors in the black Ingest window and contact the mentor team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>FTSW Monitoring display<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Usage\n<ul>\n<li>The displayed values are not real-time (unlike the housekeeping Status list).\u00a0 They may be 5-15 mins old.\u00a0 Check the UTC time box<\/li>\n<li>Hover over a box to see the value<\/li>\n<li>Click on a box to see the acceptable range of values<\/li>\n<li>Click on the arrows at the top to scroll between times\/records<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Some values may become temporarily yellow\/red.\u00a0 This is often not a concern, unless the state persists ~&gt;30 mins\n<ul>\n<li>Hatch status \/ Rain State \/ Rain Intensity will change color with precipitation events<\/li>\n<li>LW\/SW Responsivity &amp; LW\/SW NBB NEN may momentarily change color when the hatch changes state<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Interfer.
