The following describes each formula included in the Miscellaneous Formulas section of McIDAS-V.
Note: If the formula you select utilizes a Select Input window to enter values to be used by the formula, you can choose if you want to save these values in a bundle if you wish to create one. Each field of the Select Input window has a Save in Bundle option (chosen by default). If you keep this option selected, the value(s) you choose will be stored in the bundle, and if all values are saved, the formula will automatically execute when you load in your bundle without any user input. If you do not save the values in your bundle, the values you use will not be saved, and the formula will not automatically execute without requiring the user to enter/change values.
Any Field (field) - Allows you define a field to display from your loaded data sources.
Change Unit (name, unitSpec) - Sets the name and unit of a field.

Define a formula (formula) - Allows for the creation of a formula. Once entered, a Field Selector window will open, where you can decide what parameters to utilize in the formula to represent each field.

Make a time sequence from single time grid/images - Merges a set of single time grids or images into a time sequence, controlled in the Main Display window with the Time Animation Widget.
Negate a Field (field) - Multiplies the numerical values of the chosen parameter by -1, changing the sign of the displayed parameter.
Simple difference a-b - Calculates the difference of the two user-defined fields and plots the results.
