CHILL

Calculates the wind chill index.


Format

CHILL temp t-units speed s-units


Parameters

temp

temperature for calculating the wind chill index

t-units

units of the temp value; the output will also be in these units

list wind chill value computed with the formula implemented by the National Weather Service in November 2001 (default)

 

OLD

list wind chill value computed with the pre-2001 formula

list wind chill value for both CURRENT and OLD formulas


Examples

CHILL -15 C 17 KTS

This entry lists the wind chill index for a temperature of -15° C and a wind speed of 17 knots.

CHILL 12 F 40 MPH

This entry lists the wind chill index for a temperature of 12° F and a wind speed of 40 miles per hour.
