30 Jul 2020 fastrack2020.1_changes.txt This file contains the list of McIDAS-X version 2020.1 modules that were changed since the previous release (version 2019.1). This information is provided so you can see exactly what has changed between those versions (and note bug fixes, try new features, etc.). The changes are listed below, sorted by SSEC inquiry number. Each entry contains the following information: - SSEC inquiry number (the five-digit number at the beginning) - each module that was updated in the inquiry, followed by the module's CVS version number - a general description of the changes and how they impact McIDAS Modules released 10-Jul-20 in version 2020.1 -------------------------------------------- 17029 grib2NavLookup.txt 1.45 xcdgrib.c 1.43 Updates were needed to get GRIB creation code working with RHEL 8. The grib2NavLookup.txt file was updated for NWPS (Nearshore Wave Prediction System) model data to better identify them geographically. 17014 abinadir.cp 1.37 abinaget.cp 1.55 When doing IMGLIST FORM=ALL for ABI data the server and copied AREA files were reporting an auxiliary value. There is no AUX block for ABI data, and the server was corrected so auxiliary will equal 0 for IMGLIST FORM=ALL from ABI netCDF files and ABI AREA files. 17008 kbxviir.dlm 1.14 viiraget.cp 1.27 The VIIR servers were updated so band 18 (VIIRS M13) data will have non-zero values in missing scanline regions and bad lines. This matches the behavior of the other bands. 16999 abinadir.cp 1.36 The ABIN servers were updated to not prematurely error when debug keywords are being used. This was an issue with older ABI data that did not have data quality flags (DQF) implemented. 16996 makefile 1.362 The make flag, -nox11, was corrected to work on machines that do not have X11 libraries installed. The correct modules will not be built when -nox11 is used. 16993 kbxviir.dlm 1.13 The VIIR server was updated to fix Band 18 (M13 band data). When using IMGPROBE, Band 18 will have zero values in bowtie deletion and bad line regions. This matches the behavior of the other bands. 16989 imgconv.pgm 1.11 IMGCONV was updated with the BNOR option for blue channel normalization with Rayleigh scattering correction. Also, limb darkening was tweaked along with the addition of the IDT= keyword to specify the limb darkening coefficient. 16981 gui.shk 1.27 mcidas.sh 1.71 Updates were made to GUI components and a system script to help avoid XCB errors caused by multiple threads. 16980 kbxgms.dlm 1.37 The GMS calibration was updated to prevent an error message to be displayed incorrectly when using AXFORM on GMS AREA files. 16979 mcxpyinstall.sh 1.14 Updates to the McIDAS-X Python package installer for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Python versions 2 and 3. 16974 msgtadir2.for 1.15 The MSGT servers were updated to fix errors in IMGLIST and IMGPROBE on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and WSL/Ubuntu. 16973 argglo.c 1.32 globkey.pgm 1.19 The GLOBKEY command was updated to remove the DEV=D option which was sunset with Windows 7. Also, the error message when trying to use DEV=D was updated to be informative of the sunset. 16945 gui.shk 1.24 makefile 1.358 mcinet.sh 1.44 Updates for Red Hat Enterprises Linux 8 to correct compiling errors, GUI errors, and mcinet issues. 16940 batch.pgm 1.61 The BATCH command was updated to return a non-zero error status whenever a command within a script fails. 16939 addefunc.c 1.39 database.c 1.53 grib2func.c 1.37 makefile 1.360 ptcopy.pgm 1.31 Updates were made to some subroutines and the PTCOPY command to support the upcoming release of a new XCD package. 16937 grib2func.c 1.38 McIDAS-X subroutines were updated for the GRIB servers to better handle large grid files (e.g., SST grids). 16920 modsadir.cp 1.24 modsaget.cp 1.62 When setting up local datasets for MODIS data, the MODS servers will correctly handle periods specified in the DIRFILE= keyword of DSSERVE. 16918 dist.pgm 1.50 DIST was updated to handle very small distances (e.g., less than 1km). 16912 imgdisp.pgm 1.135 m0frmtyp.c 1.7 mcclean.cp 1.9 mci_updt.c 1.48 rgbdisp.c 1.31 special.c 1.16 The RGBDISP command and associated modules were updated for better performance, specifically when running multiple RGBDISP commands through a BATCH script. 16907 abinadir.cp 1.34 abinaget.cp 1.54 The ABIN servers were updated to support GOES-17 Fusion imagery as well as more generalized naming conventions. Other changes were included in the servers for future development of GOES-R imagery. 16906 addefunc.c 1.38 A subroutine was updated to restore the ability of IMGLIST to work with a range of dates on archive servers. 16905 mcidas.sh 1.72 mcxpyinstall.sh 1.8 Updates to the McIDAS-X startup procedure and Python package for preliminary support of Windows Services for Linux and Ubuntu on Windows 10 machines. 16904 aboutgui.gui 1.39 license.txt 1.9 makefile 1.363 mcinst.sh 1.149 MCSTRETCH.TXT 1.16 rvf.pgm 1.40 svf.pgm 1.47 txt2md.pgm 1.22 VERSION.TXT 1.112 XRD.TXT 1.27 Updated system files, helps, and copyrights for 2020.1. 16903 STNDB.CORE 1.107 The station database file, STNDB.CORE, was updated with new and corrected METAR, TAF and NAMMOS stations. 16902 USCOUNTY.MAP 1.33 USZONE.MAP 1.28 The USZONE.MAP and USCOUNTY.MAP files were updated with current NWS shapefiles since the previous release. 16893 kbxabin.dlm 1.31 The ABIN calibration module was corrected so IMGDISP of bands 33-35 of GLM product data files from Texas Tech display. 16892 giniaget.cp 1.10 giniutil.c 1.17 servutil.c 1.18 The GINI servers and related modules were updated to list and probe correctly on the macOS platform. 16873 DCISFC 1.8 The description of the DAY key in the DCISFC schema was changed to include NOMINAL (i.e., NOMINAL YEAR AND JULIAN DAY (CCYYDDD)). 16830 abinadir.cp 1.35 The ABIN servers were enhanced to list calculated resolutions instead of nominal satellite resolutions in IMGLIST FORM=BAND and FORM=ALL listings. 16180 geo.pgm 1.50 GEODATA.CORE 1.28 GEO and the GEODATA.CORE file were updated to fix a few issues. Himawari data is now displayed correctly with displays of past data, and the correct band is now chosen. Merging data was improved when the dateline is in the selection region. Also, the MSG datasets were updated to use SDS datasets that contain complete images. 16128 giniadir.cp 1.13 giniaget.cp 1.13 giniutil.c 1.18 giniutil.h 1.12 The GINI servers now correctly calculate the destination dataset position when it is not specified in the IMGCOPY command.
