Users access and integrate various data types by displaying images and graphics separately or simultaneously. Current, past and forecast data displays can be animated to monitor changes.<\/p>\n<p>McIDAS-X:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>support for NCEP, ECMWF and other numerical model grids [see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/datacenter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSEC Satellite Data Services<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/datacenter\/rtgrids.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">current list<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>plots and contours of gridded data in McIDAS GRID or netCDF format<\/li>\n<li>derived fields \u2013 such as vorticity, divergence, parameter advection, shear<\/li>\n<li>convert gridded data fields into a digital image<\/li>\n<li>scalar operations between like grids using mathematical formulas<\/li>\n<li>list, modify and statistically analyze grid point values<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[All examples on this page were created using McIDAS-X software.
