This annual one-day event will be held at Memorial Union on Tuesday, 11 October 2011 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with benefit plan representatives, discover campus resources, attend informative presentations, talk to a benefit specialist and participate in health assessments.

Pre-Retirement Workshop
Workshop Registration Page
Designed for employees age 50 or over, the pre-retirement workshop is considered a prerequisite for an individual retirement counseling appointment. Topics include: calculating your monthly annuity, choosing an annuity option, health insurance and conversion of sick leave credits, benefit options after retirement, and supplemental retirement income.

Retirement Appointment with a UW-Madison Benefits Specialist

If you are at least age 54 (age 49 for employees with WRS protective employment category service), you can meet with a benefits specialist for an individual retirement counseling appointment. The benefit specialist will prepare a Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) benefit estimate for a retirement date within three years of the appointment date. We will also calculate the value of your sick leave credits to pay for health insurance premiums during retirement, and explain your options for continuing or converting your other benefit plans.
