Comings and Goings

Andrew is a student hourly working with Doug Adler.

"I am still an undergrad here at the UW in Engineering Mechanics and Astronautics. I am about to start my 5th and final year of my undergrad this fall, because it took me until my second year to figure out my major. Right now I'm working for Doug Adler as a student worker aiding him with his projects. I hope to go to graduate school next fall and as far as interests go I don't know, but need to find out quickly so I can narrow down my search for a graduate school.

Katherine Stockwell

Katherine is a student hourly working with Matthew Lazzara.

"I'm now a senior at UW majoring in atmospheric and oceanic science. I'm interested in Antarctic research and currently investigating an abnormal cold spell occurrence. As an Air Force ROTC cadet, I'm also working towards commissioning as an Air Force weather officer. I'm into running and working on creative craft projects in my free time."

Kevin is a student hourly working with Jerry Robaidek.

"I am Los Angeles, CA, born and raised. I am currently a junior here at UW-Madison and double majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I am on a full-tuition, leadership-based scholarship through the Posse Foundation. As a part of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc., I have held various positions from chapter delegate to President. I have a great passion for music including drumming, playing piano, producing, and dancing.

"I currently work for the Data Center reviewing products that come in making sure that all the information is well and accounted for."

Mitchell is a student hourly working with Mark Kulie.

"I'll be a senior this fall with majors in AOS and Physics. I am currently working on a project with Mark Kulie relating to Lake Effect snow and correlations between radar and satellite products. I'm an avid runner and when not in the Space Sciences I can be found enjoying local parks and trails."

Marcus is a student hourly working with Jerry Robaidek.

"I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am a student here at UW-Madison. I am studying Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. I still have one year of school, I plan on graduating in May '14. I am working in the data center as student help. I was on the Wisconsin Swimming and Diving team and I just finished my fourth season this spring."

Alex is a student hourly working with Paul Czerniak.

Abigail will be working with Marlene McCaffery.

Carissa is a student hourly working with Margaret Mooney.

"I am going to be a senior here at UW majoring in AOS and Environmental Studies. I'm working with EarthNow and the Science on a Sphere program. I'll be writing and narrating the monthly climate digest as well as writing scripts about various climate topics! In my free time you can find me running, taking a dance class or relaxing at the terrace. I am excited to be a part of SSEC and thankful to be here!"

Max is a student hourly working with Dave Santek.

"I just finished my second year at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, where I'm double majoring in economics and political science with an additional concentration in Technology Studies. I like to be involved in politics and social activism issues. At SSEC I'm helping test and fix some bugs in McIDAS-V by running a profiler while I complete tutorials with the program."

Emily is a student hourly working with Will Robus.

Scott will be working with Bormin Huang.

Grayson is a student hourly working with Alex Shturmakov.

"I am studying Mechanical Engineering. I am 23 years old, and moved to Madison in Aug 2012 from College Station, Tx. I built a passion for Motorsport at the end of high school which made for an easy choice of major. I'm huge into hunting, sports, and consider myself a beer enthusiast. This summer I am a student engineer for IDDO's drilling projects."

Malachi is a student hourly working with Alex Shturmakov.

Sam is a student hourly working with Will Robus.

Kevin is a student hourly working with Eric Thompson.

"I am originally from Germantown, WI, but I will be a Junior here at UW Madison this upcoming fall. My major is accounting. My interests include any sports - whether it is playing them or watching them - especially golf, football and basketball. And of course being from Wisconsin I am a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. My job here is as a student purchasing assistant so I help out in the purchasing office."

Mike is a student hourly working with Bill Bellon.

"I currently attend the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and am majoring in microbiology (and possibly double majoring in Spanish). I love being outdoors--backpacking, mountain biking, motocross, and swimming have been hobbies for years. The mechanical aspect of motorcycles and cars and such has always interested me, so rebuilding engines and performing maintenance has been something I enjoy doing. At SSEC, I will be helping with the Global Cryosphere Watch project that my dad (Jeff Key) is a part of, and possibly helping with a newsletter of its own!"

Alexander is a student hourly working with Will Robus.

"I will be beginning my junior year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall. I am double majoring in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and am a proud member of the School of Business here on campus. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, learning about anything and everything, and living in the moment. Space and science continues to intrigue me as I grow throughout my college years, and I hope to assist with these studies through my help in the administrative office. Overall, I like to have fun and meet new people!"
