Budget Impact Survey:

An Ad Hoc Committee on the Impact of the Budget Bill was tasked to collect qualitative and quantitative data on the economic impact of increased health insurance premiums and the increase in employee-required retirement contributions. The committee created an anonymous survey that should take no more then 10 minutes to complete. Results will be presented as a report to the academic staff assembly.

Academic Staff Branding

The academic staff communications committee is working with 4 UW-Madison interns ( who will get class credit) to work on promotional material, an academic staff logo and branding forms of communication. This has just started and the team is looking for “buzz words or adjectives” used to describe academic staff and their roles.

MASA

The Madison Academic Staff Association (MASA) has noticed a huge drop in membership since the legislature passed a law which meant they could no longer collect dues via automatic paycheck deduction. If you think you are a member of MASA you may no longer be considered a member if you didn't notice you were no longer paying dues automatically. MASA is a professional association for UW-Madison academic staff and they do not lobby and are not a union. Annual dues are $10 and are waived if you attend the Academic Staff Institute.
