Resources for Compiling a Literature Review

by Keely Merchant

The Schwerdtfeger Library recently held workshops on compiling a literature review in the atmospheric sciences.  The PowerPoint slides for the workshops are available on the library’s website, along with other resources that support research in the atmospheric sciences

The presentation covers aspects of searching for and compiling information for a literature review that are useful to all researchers. These include the search process, scholarly communications, searching for books and articles, and using citation managers effectively. We focus on a couple of databases that are particularly important to the atmospheric sciences. They are, Web of Science and Meteorological and Geoastrophysical Abstracts.

While these slides offer good tips for getting started on your research, you can visit the Schwerdtfeger librarians for individualized help. We can help you find sources and offer tips for selecting from a range of databases depending on your need. We can support all phases of your research, whether you are just getting started or have a good start but are looking for a specific article.

Please contact us with your questions, we are here to help.
