Technical Computing

by Scott Nolin

This month we just completed set up and configuration for 25 separate Linux servers. These are separate systems, and not a cluster. We got so many systems at once so that projects could take advantage of excellent pricing due to the bulk of our recent S4 cluster purchase - they were essentially priced with the same discount.

Working with this many machines at once requires several people pitching in, and for this project most of the work came from our Technical Computing students. Extra thanks are due to Chris Beley who acted as a student leader on this project.
