Credit Tim Wagner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s basically a sunset at the wrong time and it happens quickly,\u201d says Jonathan Gero, an SSEC scientist who operates the SPARC. \u201cWhat you\u2019re getting are interesting changes in how the Earth is heated from the Sun, that short absence can have noticeable impacts on the atmosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the web<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CIMSS researchers Scott Lindstrom and Scott Bachmeier covered the eclipse extensively, posting on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cimss.ssec.wisc.edu\/satellite-blog\/\">CIMSS Satellite Blog<\/a> that features eye-catching satellite imagery and explanations of the solar phenomenon.
