{"id":5778,"date":"2014-02-26T09:46:09","date_gmt":"2014-02-26T15:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/news\/?p=5778"},"modified":"2016-02-19T15:07:29","modified_gmt":"2016-02-19T21:07:29","slug":"fourth-annual-aoss-photo-contest-announcing-the-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ssec.wisc.edu\/news\/articles\/5778","title":{"rendered":"Fourth Annual AOSS Photo Contest: Announcing the Winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>by Leanne Avila<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Steam fog rising from a Montana lake, methane bubbling up in Lake Mendota only to be trapped in ice to form \u201cpancakes,\u201d a rare glimpse of an aurora borealis from our iconic rooftop\u2026 For the fourth year in a row, staff and students in the Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences (AOSS) building have sought to capture the beauty and natural forces of weather for the AOSS Photo Contest. <\/p>\n<p>Administered by the Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC), the contest invited weather photographers to submit photos representing a \u201cweather event, anywhere in the world.\u201d This year 18 individuals submitted 32 photos.
