Coastal Upwelling: Wind-Driven Upwelling, Exercise 2

Create wind conditions that will lead to upwelling:
In the scene below, high chlorophyll concentration, an indicator of phytoplankton, is shown in shades of yellow.
The image at right is taken from a NASA MODIS image of New Zealand.
Choose the direction in which the wind needs to blow for the coastal upwelling shown to occur.
Click on the correct compass heading.
