Much of the fieldwork conducted with the Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) Portable Atmospheric Research Center (SPARC) is the first of its kind. Several instruments onboard were designed and built at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where the SPARC is based. For these reasons, experimenters must take detailed notes and photos about how to set up all SPARC equipment for field operations.
