This is Module 2 in a series of three on Principles in Remote Sensing. In the first module, Earth Observations from Satellites, we covered the two main types of satellites used for remote sensing of the Earth and its atmosphere, and characteristics of the data produced by each type.

This module focuses on the remote sensors themselves - the instrumentation onboard these satellites, and the factors that influence the amount and quality of data generated by them. This data provides an extremely valuable view of the world that would be otherwise unseen by the human eye.

Estimated completion time: 15-20 minutes
