2023 is the 50th Anniversary of McIDAS — Celebrate with us at the 2023 MUG Meeting!
The 2023 MUG (McIDAS Users’ Group) Meeting to be held in person at the Pyle Center on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus from September 25th through the 28th, 2023.
After cancelling the 2021 MUG Meeting, this will be our first in-person meeting since 2019. The 2023 MUG Meeting will once again bring together McIDAS users from all around the globe to discuss topics relevant to McIDAS-X, McIDAS-V, and McIDAS-XCD, including guest speakers from the McIDAS community. There will be training sessions offered on McIDAS-X, McIDAS-V, and writing ADDE servers in Python. Registration and payment information are now available at the tabs above.
McIDAS-X and McIDAS-V User Workshops
Full-day sessions cover basic and advanced topics of McIDAS-X and McIDAS-V. Day One will start with the basics of accessing and displaying different types of data, as well as new features available in McIDAS-X and McIDAS-V. Day Two will cover Advanced Topics including advanced display types and python/jython tools available in McIDAS-X and McIDAS-V. Both Beginner and Advanced Users will benefit from these training sessions.
McIDAS Python Programmer Workshop
A two-day session that will cover writing a new McIDAS ADDE server using the McIDAS Python API, now called pyADDE. There are currently two pyADDE servers included in McIDAS-X for GOES ABI and MTG FCI. Participants in this workshop will learn to write a pyADDE server and will leave with the knowledge to write more of their own pyADDE servers. Ideally, participants in this workshop will have at least one year of Python programming experience.
