SSEC Data Ingestor (SDI)

SDI GRB Appliance fact sheet

Historical Notes:
SSEC has been designing and building satellite ingestors since the mid-1970s. The current generation, the SSEC Data Ingestor, is described on this page. The SSEC Data Ingestor is the successor to the SSEC Desktop Ingestor
[migration info], which were manufactured between 1997 and 2005 for DMSP, GMS, GVAR, Meteosat-5 and -7, MTSAT HiRID, POES and NOAAPORT. Beginning in 2005, the SDI NOAAPORT system was replaced by the NOAAPORT Receive System.

The SSEC Data Ingestor (a.k.a. SDI-104 or SDI) is a reliable, low-maintenance weather satellite ingestor. The SDI was designed for the collection of research-quality data from the following satellite families.
