AERI Monthly Preventative Maintenance Procedure

Instrument:     AERI

Starting Date:     1 July 2015

Facility:      SGP-C1, SGP-E32, NSA-C1, ENA-C1, AMF-M1, AMF-M3

PM Frequency:     Monthly


The following procedure is for performing scheduled monthly preventative maintenance on the AERI. All results are recorded on the PM checklist.

Physical check of instrument:

Inspection of front-end enclosure:

Remove the front-end access panel, inspect inside the enclosure for debris or precipitation accumulation. Clear any debris or precipitation accumulation.

Replacement of outside air filter:

Replace the outside air filter (see instructions).

Inspection of inside air filter:

Inspect the inside air filter (HEPA).  Replace the inside air filter if it is dirty and airflow is restricted (typically once a year).

Inspection of scene mirror:

When the sky hatch is open, quickly look down with an LED flashlight to inspect the scene mirror – do not obstruct the instrument field-of-view for more than ~3 seconds! Inspect the path to the scene mirror for obstructions. Clear any obstructions. Inspect the mirror surface. Clean or replace the mirror if necessary (see instructions).
