SDI-104 GVAR Software Changes

This page lists the software changes included with each SDI-104 GVAR version available on the McIDAS Website. Each version contains all changes in the previous versions.

Changes in Version 20180713

  • updated servers to support Expanded Stretch Feature that was released in McIDAS-X versions 2017.2 and 2018.1 (inquiry 16340)
  • improved performance of servers when IMGLIST requests one-minute GOES imagery (inquiry 15915)
  • updated the ADDE servers to make error messages consistent when an invalid band number is specified (inquiry 15760)

  • updated package to match version that is running in the SSEC Data Center

Changes in Version 20120111

  • updated GVAR server to fix a problem where an IMGCOPY (or other IMG* command) that requests a complete GOES-15 Sub-CONUS image while it’s being ingested produces a blank line at the point in which the ingestor starts receiving Sounder data

  • added most recent calibration coefficient updates for GOES-14 and GOES-15 and updated GVAR server to fix a problem that can occur if attempting to copy a full disk GOES visible image at full resolution using IMGCOPY with BAND=1 SIZE=SAME STYPE=VISR

  • updated GVAR server to retrieve some navigation parameters from a new location in Block 0 for GOES-14; uses the factory coefficients when not available

  • updated GVAR server to store GOES-14 calibration information inline rather than obtaining it from Block 0

  • updated servers in preparation for GOES-O
  • corrected problem in servers that resulted in partial bad lines in full disk and northern hemisphere visible images when image tracking (a.k.a. following) was used
  • corrected problem where subsequent event notifications (defined in the notify.list file) were skipped if the event triggered the execution of a non-existent target (e.g., a local script that does not exist)
  • added logging of event notifications in the file /data/opt/etc/notify.log (must exist and be writeable)
  • added check for duplicate raw data filename

Changes in Version 20061114

  • added following QC image display, named “mcdisplay”
  • added tcp wrappers to ADDE servers
  • modified to redirect output to /dev/console instead of /dev/tty1
