Presentation 1600-1630. This talk will summarize what those training activities entail. A partial list includes blogging about significant events, developing videos on how to access and display GOES-R data using CIMSS-developed software, and holding virtual science fairs with resources to engage students grades 6 through 12 and undergraduates. CIMSS also develops material and provides hands-on instruction for national and international training events, including AMS Short Courses and live training for National Weather Service forecasters. The goal of these efforts is to promote and facilitate the use of meteorological satellites as well as foster the next generation of environmental forecasters and scientists. The talk will also discuss how these resources can be accessed and used to broaden knowledge of satellite data.
