September 11, 2012 | Mark Hobson

The Climate Literacy Ambassadors project from the Cooperative Institute of Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) recently launched a Spanish language version of a course on climate change. Cambio Cilmático Global y Regional  explains the science behind the graphs and tables in the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) Summary for Policy Makers.

The translation was done by Juan Botella who teaches weather and climate at Monona High School.

Linked from a previously existing course some of the activities are still in English, but many significant activities are now available in Spanish such as the Carbon Projections Applet created by AOS professor Galen McKinely and SSEC programmer Tommy Jasmin and translated by Juan Botella.
