December 28, 2012 | Mark Hobson

The Winter 2013 issue of SSEC’s twice-yearly publication, “Through the Atmosphere,” is available online here, or in hard copy from SSEC (see below for details).

This issue focuses on cloud studies at SSEC/CIMSS. From using satellite observations to detect convective clouds to chasing tropical cyclones; from volcanic ash clouds to the mysterious formations recently detailed on Uranus; from tracking and predicting the course of Hurricane Sandy to the dramatic visible light night-time images captured by the Suomi NPP VIIRS instrument — this issue offers great cloud coverage.

Let us know what you think of “Through the Atmosphere.”
