2019 Australian wildfires

Massive wildfires stuck Australia starting at the beginning of November 2019, causing widespread devastation. These fires off tinder-dry conditions coupled with high temperatures, unpredictable winds and lightning. Over 200 homes have been destroyed and bushfires approached within 15km of Sydney's city centre. Other brush fires erupted on the south coast of Australia and continue to scorch hundreds of acres
